We’re one of the largest pure-play OpenStack companies in the world. We help most major enterprises out there achieve cloud with open source software, and take it from the open source community to the enterprise.
One of the ways that we’re helping IBM with their customers and their business challenges is we’ve recently just made an announcement that we’re going to work with IBM and the Power group to help get Mirantis open stack on Power as a compute platform. This is a huge move forward for our larger enterprise customers who are looking at the workloads that Power really specializes in.
When you take the IBM Power Systems and the Mirantis OpenStack, and you bring those together for the customer, it allows them to quickly adopt and be agile in new technologies. One of the challenges with cloud is it’s very vague, and nobody really knows what they need out of it and what they want out of it. They know they need the cloud, but with Mirantis and IBM, we’re able to be prescriptive. So say, let’s not worry about whether you want a cloud or not, but what are the workloads? What business values are you bringing? Whether it’s high performance computing, whether it’s going to be Cognitive, whether it’s going to be Analytics, by bringing together the Mirantis open stack and Power Systems, we’re going to be able to really step above anywhere else in the marketplace.
One of the things that I’m looking forward to the most working with IBM, personally I’m a technologist, and Power Systems are cutting edge, they’re above and beyond anything we’ve seen in the modern cloud world. And so, taking that to our larger customers, our enterprise customers, who really need that help we’re going to be able to facilitate accelerating their journey and then also continuing to integrate with IBM and expand that value of cloud across the enterprise customer and also bring some of the IBM contributions back into then community.
