Strumble Head Concert – National Night Out
The final Wyoming Concert in the Park event steps up a notch by combining its last free concert at Lamar Park, 2561 Porter St. SW, with a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Along with the free concert, the evening will feature an antique car show, bounce houses, fire truck, local community groups, and more.
National Night Out events aim to increase support for crime and drug prevention, raise participation in local anti-crime efforts, and encourage police and community cooperation. Local neighborhoods are encouraged to hold block parties to “reclaim their streets” in a positive manner.
Strumble Head is a local favorite that plays a fun mix of rock and classic rock from the best bands of the ‘60s through the ‘80s and nearly every song is a “singalong.” The band consists of Brian Ingraham (lead vocals, percussion), Mark Reilly (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Tim Hamm (bass), Rick Forberg (guitar, vocals) and Tom Shipp (drums).
